We had the distinct pleasure of co-sponsoring the first UK AirTac Bazaar held by BadgerTac last Saturday (11 December) at their base near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.Considering that only about 6 weeks elapsed from coming up with the idea to putting on the event, the guys at BadgerTac did a sterling job of organising the day and getting vendors and punters through the doors. Besides ourselves, local skirmish sites like GASS were on hand to show their capabilities and facilities, Edgar Brothers Airsoft Division were there with a table full of goodies to drool over, several other retailers were on hand with a wide range of kit and airsoft weaponry.Richard “The Gun Doctor” was also there, together with the boys from X-Site, to provide upgrade services or repairs to anyone in need of some TLC for their AEG. Reflecting the ever growing diversity of the airsoft community, others brought along an impressive array of kit and clothing – from WWII to Cold War to OEF and OIF – that they were looking to swap or sell.Despite it being the first ever such event – and it being a damp, cold, grey December day at the height of the Christmas shopping season – there was decent turn-out and all who attended seemed in good spirits and happy with the event. The format of the day – combining professional tactical kit and airsoft vendors and the bring-and-buy/swap options – went down well, and the general consensus of opinion was that this event will no doubt go from strength to strength and become the premiere event of this type for the region. The next AirTac Bazaar is scheduled for the 16th of April 2011 and promises to be even bigger, better and more exciting. Mark your calendars and book the day off now! We’ll see you there….
