Climbing on icy waterfalls is more than just an extraordinary sport. During various military operations, it may be necessary for soldiers to climb on such ice formations. That’s why Army Mountain Guides conduct annual training on climbing vertical ice in the Bavarian Alps in Mittenwald. Due to the cold and wet protection suits with winter camouflage pattern the soldiers are sufficiently protected from the weather. This year there were also participants from Belgium and the Netherlands.
