Finishing up our look at the evolution of the Finnish versions of the “AK”, we now look at the 4 guns produced by the Valmet factory that are probably the most well-known – thanks mostly to the time that they were available commercially in the United States. They also appeared in numerous movies during the early 1980’s; including “The Terminator”, “Survivors”, “Commando”, and “Firefox”.
So, from 1971 to 1982, here we go…
I owned a folding stock version of the Valmet M76 for a while back in the early ’80’s when I was serving in the 82nd Airborne Division – it was a really sweet shooting experience and I really regret that I sold it.
