There was a time when most real-steel manufacturers weren’t interested in airsoft – seeing it as just a bunch of kids playing with toys. Which is one of the reasons why the airsoft market started replicating real-steel weapons and accessories in the first place (the other reason being the strict controls on real firearms in many of the countries where airsoft first took root).
Fortunately, those days are rapidly disappearing and more and more real-deal gun manufacturers, customisers and parts and accessories makers are getting on board with the global rise of airsoft. In following this trend, we were pretty excited about 6 months ago when CAA Tactical announced the creation of the CAA Airsoft Division.
CAA is one of the the leading producers of accessories and parts for real firearms, and their stated aim for entering the airsoft sector is to provide the best airsoft products you can get on the market.
So far CAA Airsoft Division has only released an airsoft version of their RONI pistol/carbine conversion kit, and an airsoft hi-cap version of their polymer M4 magazine. This week, however, CAA Airsoft Division notched things up to a whole new level with the announcement of their first full AEG – the rather tasty looking full-metal and nylon fiber polymer M4S1 Carbine.
The CAA Airsoft M4S1 Carbine will be offered in both a 14.5″ and 10.5″ barrel version, in either Black or Dark Earth colour, and from what we can tell from the photos and description it has some pretty cool features and looks well made too.
The Carbine features a lightweight nylon fiber Picatinny Rail System, full CAA trademarks and unique serial number laser engraved on the receiver, and an ergonomically-designed nylon fiber pistol grip for greater and more comfortable hold on the weapon. For effective control of the weapon, QD sling swivels can be attached in 6 different positions on the stock and hand-guard.
The M4S1 also features a nylon fiber collapsible butt-stock that can be set to 6 different positions, and includes a storage compartment 4x CR123 batteries. The rubber non-slip butt-pad with tapered angle, allows faster shouldering and increased comfort – especially when wearing body armor or a plate carrier. The stock is also delivered with an adjustable cheek-rest on its side rail, but the cheek-rest can be removed to fit a mag pouch or shell holder.
The package comes with a Low Profile Flip-up Rear Sight and a CAA 360-rounds nylon fiber magazine. The integrated, functioning, bolt-hold-open device makes it easy and convenient to access and adjust the hop-up unit.
