As we’ve covered before, the British armed forces have standardized on mid-brown colored boots for wear with their new MTP camouflage uniforms. 

Earlier this week they announced that Magnum’s Lightweight Patrol Boot will be one of two choices for mounted troops serving in temperate regions.

As you can see, the color is darker shade than the Coyote Brown boots worn by the US military – and thus is a much more suitable shade for European and other temperate climate regions.  Its also a nice muted tone for anyone who wants a good pair of boots that won’t stand out as much as black or khaki / coyote brown.

Magnum have also announced that they will be releasing this boot / color combo (known as the Scorpion boot) to the civilian market, and that they might also release other boots in this color as well.
