Do you like the outdoors?  Do you like high-speed military guns and gear?  Do you like good photography?  How about something that combines all three with a naturalistic style?

If you answered yes to those questions, then you should check out the work of John Reitter, The Airsoft Strobist.  John (not Johan) is a young man in Austria who’s combined his love of the outdoors, guns, airsoft and photography and come up with some truly excellent results.

By the way, a “strobist” in photography lingo is a person who uses small, hot-shoe mountable electronic flashguns, off-camera to enhance the lighting quality of his photos. The off-camera flashgun is triggered by the camera using a sync cable or a wireless switch.

One of my favorite shots is this one of an airsofter in Austria with a complete load-out in the Singaporan Armed Forces new digital camouflage.  Not only is it a studio-quality shot set against a great background, but its also the fact that this guy managed to get himself a complete set up in a really uncommon pattern – and in a size big enough to fit him!  Kudos.

Or how about this one of a CADPAT clad skirmisher?

While this one just makes me want to raise my fist in the air and yell “WOLVERINES!”

Or how about something completely different?

Enjoy the rest of John’s work on his website and on his Facebook page.
