Once only talked about behind closed doors with industry insiders, DARPA’s Subterranean Challenge is now getting real, and going (somewhat) public!

In just a few weeks, from August 15-22, 2019, eleven teams in the Systems track will gather at a formerly operational mine in Pittsburgh and watch as their machines attempt to remotely map, identify, and report the greatest number of artifacts along the mine’s passages. This underground arena is managed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Mining Program.

Separately, nine Virtual teams will attempt to navigate and identify artifacts in dark, dangerous, and unpredictable underground scenarios in the Virtual Tunnel environment.

Regular public updates will be issued throughout the event, in the meantime, for more information visit https://lnkd.in/excc3Bp.
